Charles S. Teel was born in 1824 in the Medford area. Son of Samuel and Nancy Scott Teel, he married Mary Murphy and they had a son Charles Warren Teel. He died 23 Jan 1888 in Salem MA having been an orange farmer in Florida until he returned to MA for treatment of inujuries sustained while visiting there. At the time of his death he was married to Abbie J. Newton.
Curious to know if family stories are true and what ship he might have sailed on as well as anyother info about him and his family.

He was according to family legend, an orphan,adopted by the family of a Jeremiah Frost, who we think is connected to the early Congregational Church in Nova Scotia(there are several men by that name) possibly at Shelburne, NS, and then taken to Argyle, NS. He later grew up, farmed and raised 14 children on Roberts Island, Glenwood, NS, Canada. I am descended from his son Benjamin, a sea captain, born 1806. ( My gr-gr-grandfather.) There is a possible connection to the Whitehouses of Dover, New Hampshire, but nothing definite. In Rolla Cemetary there is a hed-stone for both of them. John has death-date on his & is buried there. There is no death date for Samantha & cemetary says she's not buried there.
